I am a sucker for lipstick! I love it! Sometimes I am feeling really bold and I use a dark red or hot pink color. Other times I need to tone it down. I found the perfect trick! Nude lipstick! If you have a favorite lip color, but feel like it is too dark, apply it and then apply the nude over the top of that. I always love the colors that I can create with this fun tool.
My sister Abbie said she doesn't wear lipstick very often because her lips end up feeling chapped and the color doesn't last. My solution to this problem is this. When you start your makeup routine, apply chapstick. By the time you are finished with your makeup and you apply your lipstick, rub the chapstick in really good and then apply the lip color. It always softens my lips and gives them enough moisture. If that still doesn't do the trick or you don't have time to apply chapstick, apply a lipgloss after you have applied your lipstick. I don't usually have issues with my lipstick lasting. I believe its all in the quality of the lipstick. My favorite brand is MAC. The fun thing about MAC too is you can get a free lipstick for ever 6 empty makeup containers you turn in. This is part of their recycling program.
.....and last but not least, have fun with color! Don't be afraid to wear any shade of lipstick. You may feel like you can't pull a bold color off, but I am here to tell you that you can! Give it a try. -Sadie
