I am not sure what it is about sugar cookies but I am obsessed with them!
It's really bad!
Our family loves the sugar cookies from the Mini Bazaar in Idaho Falls, ID. One time Cassie's husband Rex ate a whole plate of them....lets just say he doesn't eat sugar cookies anymore.
This recipe is brought to you by our Arave cousins.
We love simple recipes. A dough that doesn't have to be chilled, works great for our "no patience" personalities! Enjoy!!
1 C Sugar
3 C Flour
1 Tsp Baking Powder
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 C Butter
4 Tbsp Milk
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/3 C Butter
3 C Powdered Sugar
3 Tbsp Milk
1 1/2 Tsp Almond extract (or vanilla if you prefer)
Instructions for cookies: Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Slowly add in flour mixture. Roll and cut out cookies. Use a thin metal spatula so cookies keep their form when you move them to the cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes. *We highly recommend using a silicon baking mat. Makes cooking cookies cleaner and easier! They look like this.
Frosting: Mix all ingredients together with mixer until frosting is the right consistency. Add more milk or powdered sugar if needed.
Step by step instruction-
*Highly recommend using this spatula for moving the cut out cookies to the sheet pan.
Once cookies have cooled down, frost and enjoy!
