We love Creme Brulee at the Wolfley and Goodman house! Its a dessert reserved for Christmas and Rex loves it for our anniversary. This recipe will make 6 servings (1/2 ramekins) and Rex seriously eats 5 of them. For those that have never tried creme brûlée, it is egg yolks, cream, vanilla, and sugar, that is cooked in a steam bath. It makes the creamiest most divine custard, and it's finished off with a sugar layer that's melted with a torch to make it extra special!
Easy Creme Brulee
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 large egg yolksCombine all ingredients in a saucepan and turn to medium heat, stir constantly. Once mixture has begun to boil, cook for 5 minutes stirring continually. Take off heat and pour 1/2 cup into 6 ramekins. Place in a deep pan and put in an oven that has been preheated to 325 degrees. Add water to the pan until it is halfway up the outside of the ramekins. Bake for 40-50 minutes. Cool completely. About 20 minutes before you serve it, sprinkle with sugar and torch it (careful not to burn) then refrigerate to cool off the melted sugar. Enjoy!
