A few years ago my sister Abbie's family drew my little family for Christmas. She put a ton of work into putting together the "24 Days of Christmas". We loved it so much, it was the beginning of a new family tradition! The boys refer to the silent gift giver as "Buddy", and look forward to the project, service, or small gift they get in the morning.
Here are some of the the things we've done......
Green or red bath (with food coloring or colored bubble bath)
Christmas Story found in Luke
Gingerbread house or Nativity
Pajamas and a movie
Movie and a treat
Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus (wood figures)
Candy and a Movie
Puff Paint Pillowcases
Pictures by the Tree
Letter to Santa
Shovel a neighbors snowy walkway
Deliver cookies to neighbors
Service for the missionaries
Giving Tree (I do a few envelopes with $20)
Craft projects (hobby lobby and I always buy the year before when they clearance everything out)
Build a Snowman (with real snow or with play dough)
Church Christmas Party
Milk and Cookie Party
Make Reindeer Food
Christmas Orange (real oranges or a chocolate orange)

Pajama Elves Deliver Jammies on Christmas Eve
Letters from Santa
Christmas Bubble Gum (bubble blowing contest)
Candy Books (skittles or lifesavers)
Gift to Christ
Play dough Ornament
This one is from 2014- They loved that my OCD self let them paint all by themselves! This was Day 1 last year and I told them all about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how he was born, They LOVED it!
This was was 2014 when Buddy brought them some decorations to decorate a little tree we already had. They loved having this in their bedroom all month!
This is an Advent Calendar that I picked up at Target the previous year on
clearance. They really enjoyed putting it together!
Poor little buddies were plum tuckered! They thought and still think these Santa hats are pretty awesome!
The Polar express- I found a free printable on Pinterest for the tickets. I had Hot Cocoa and goodies ready to go. They LOVED driving around town and looking at the Christmas lights. This picture of Hank melts my heart! He was giddy looking at the lights and my poor boyfriend Beck was devastated when it was all over!
Earlier in the month we made "reindeer food" and the picture on the right is them going outside to sprinkle the food on Christmas Eve. I just spray painted lids for baby food jars. We had Oats, Wheat, Red Glitter, Green Glitter, and Chocolate Chips. Here are the tags we used.
This is from the Friend (a magazine for children that the LDS Church publishes. Here's alink!
Letters to Santa
Christmas Pillows with puff paint.
The boys loved these fun suckers from Hobby Lobby. They got these while we
watched a Christmas Movie.
This is a cookie exchange we did with friends! I'll have more on this soon!
Nativity Coloring Page
Christmas movie shenanigans with their new blankets. Micro plush are our very favorite!
Painting Christmas Ornaments
"The Pajama Elves" book is one of our very favorite days. I read it to the boys a few days before Christmas and they love the excitement and magic that come with this day! Abbie got ours on Amazon and I just wrap the same one every year!
Those were just a few that we've done. It has seriously been such a fun tradition to carry on with our family. You can spend a little money or a lot of money. This started while we were in medical school, so we didn't have a ton extra to spend. I became a pro at shopping clearance after Christmas in preparation for the next year. I hope this gives you some good ideas!
