Fall- Planked Signs
This project is pretty much the best because it was so cheap to make!
**These are the instructions for 2 Planked Signs
1 1x4x8 Furring Strip ( around $2) cut 8 equal pieces (mine are around 11 7/8" each
1 1x2x8 Furring Strip (around $1) cut 4 pieces 13" long
Minwax Dark Walnut Stain
Black & Decker Mouse Sander
Rust-Oleum Finishing Spray
Cut 4- 11 7/8" from the 1x4
Cut 2- 13" from the 1x2
You will have enough materials for two planked signs but I'll walk you through making 1 that measures 12" by 14"
Lay the 4- 1x4's out with the back facing up.
Nail the 13" 1x2's along the side attaching the two sizes together.
Tape stencil to planked sign and paint. I paint from the paper to the wood- this will eliminate paint spreading.
